Defending champions Bayern Munich will take on Paris Saint-Germain in this season’s quarter-finals in the re-match of last season’s final while Real Madrid will play Liverpool, the team it beat 3-1 in 2018 final to win a record-extending 13th European title.
Runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City will play Borussia Dortmund with the winners to face either Bayern or PSG in the semi-finals. There is also the prospect of an all-English semi-final after Chelsea were drawn to play Porto with the prize for the winners a clash with Real Madrid or Liverpool.
It is the first Champions League quarterfinal lineup without either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo since 2005. No Italian team is involved for the first time since 2016.
