Following a bomb hoax that forced the Taj Mahal to shut down for hours, the local administration has made it clear that the Taj Mahal is perfectly safe.

Talking to India Today, Agra IG A Satish Ganesh said that the Taj Mahal is secured by a several-layered security cordon and there is no possibility of a bomb or any kind of explosive being sneaked into the monument. All tourists were evacuated from the monument this morning after a man called the UP Police and made a false threat of a bomb being placed at Taj Mahal.

Agra IG A Satish said that the UP Police has posted its best personnel for the protection of the Taj Mahal with the Central Industrial Protection Force providing interior security at the monument. It is next to impossible for anyone to take a bomb inside the Taj Mahal, Satish said.
