In the backdrop of the buzz around ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event in Houston, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted an old photograph of former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi waving at a huge crowd, claiming that the image was clicked in 1954 when Nehru and Gandhi were on a visit to the US.

Shashi Tharoor captioned the image as: “Look at the hugely enthusiastic spontaneous turnout of the American public, without any special PR campaign, NRI crowd management or hyped-up media publicity.”

To give you some context, PM Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora in the US on September 22 at the Howdy, Modi! event at the iconic NRG Stadium in Houston.
