A Full Moon on Friday the 13th only happens once every 20 years on average. Stargazers were last treated to a Full Moon on the spooky date in October 2000. The next Full Moon on Friday the 13th will take even longer and will not appear until August 13, 2049. Astronomers are also in for an additional surprise because tonight’s Full Moon happens to be the annual Harvest Moon and a Micromoon to boot.
